The rules are the same for everyone: an $80 shop minimum, one flat quote per piece, a $50 deposit only on work over $500, and free touch-ups within 90 days. How much does a tattoo cost at Irish Rose Tattoo?
Every tattoo starts at the $80 shop minimum and is quoted flat per piece, never by the hour. Most palm-sized pieces land between $150 and $350. Work quoted over $500 takes a $50 deposit that comes off the final price. See pricing for the full breakdown.
Do I need an appointment?
For custom tattoos, yes: send a booking request and your artist replies within two business days with a quote and open dates. Piercings are walk-in Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 8, and take 20 to 30 minutes.
How far is the shop from Mystic and Misquamicut?
About 12 minutes from Mystic on Route 1 east, 5 minutes from Pawcatuck, 8 from Misquamicut State Beach and 15 from Charlestown. There is lot parking out front at 9 East Ave. Directions are on the contact page.
What should I bring to my appointment?
A government photo ID, something to eat beforehand, and clothes that leave the area easy to reach. Skip alcohol the night before. Plan on about 15 minutes for paperwork and stencil placement, and bring your reference photos on your phone if they changed since you booked.
Can I get tattooed on vacation?
Yes, but plan around the water. A new tattoo needs four weeks out of the ocean, pools and hot tubs, so book it for the last day of a beach trip to Misquamicut or Watch Hill, not the first. Piercings are walk-in and take under half an hour. More in the vacation guide.
Is the shop licensed?
Yes. Irish Rose Tattoo is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health and inspected every year. Every artist holds bloodborne-pathogen certification, needles are single-use, and piercings are done with needles only, never a gun.
